Traumatismo na dentição decídua – diagnóstico, prognóstico e acompanhamento de um caso

Na última década os traumatismos alvéolo-dentários têm sido reconhecidos como problemas de saúde pública. Os traumatismos da dentição decídua podem apresentar tanto perdas do elemento dentário decíduo quanto danos à dentição permanente. As crianças são mais susceptíveis aos traumatismos alvéolo-dentários, e os dentes mais afetados são os incisivos centrais superiores. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste estudo foi relatar um caso clínico de traumatismo dentário, onde um paciente do sexo masculino, 3 anos e 6 meses de idade, sofreu trauma dos incisivos centrais superiores decíduos. Sendo avaliados no momento do trauma, os dentes apresentaram leve mobilidade e sangramento marginal, havendo ainda edema e lacerações labiais. Foi estabelecido o acompanhamento clínico e radiográfico do caso e após nove meses de controle, apesar do escurecimento das coroas dentárias, o tratamento endodôntico foi descartado e o paciente continuará sendo acompanhado até que ocorra a exfoliação dos elementos dentários que sofreram traumatismo e o irrompimento dos respectivos sucessores permanentes possa ser observado. Por meio de um correto diagnóstico é possível manter o elemento dentário traumatizado na cavidade bucal, sem intervenções invasivas, facilitando a recuperação psíquica do paciente e dos pais após o trauma preservando os elementos dentários decíduos com sua função e estética únicas
