Complex odontoma: case report

Introduction: Odontomas are benign lesions with slow growth, comprise a developmental alteration and their structure is formed by enamel, dentin and cement, they are usually asymptomatic, associated with erupted teeth or not, being diagnosed in routine exams, due to delayed eruptions. adjacent teeth. Objective: This study aims to describe the treatment of a complex odontoma in the jaw of a large proportion, through enucleation with extra oral access. Case Report: A female patient, 15 years old, sought care referring to an increase in volume in the left mandibular region, associated with pain, and numbness of the lower lip and delayed tooth eruption. Anamnesis denied allergies, comorbidities and or trauma in the left mandibular region. With the hypothesis of a diagnosis of complex odontoma, treatment was then proposed by enucleation of the lesion with submandibular access under general anesthesia. Conclusion: Conservative treatment, through enucleation was effective, the patient remained under clinical and radiographic monitoring for one year, without clinical or radiographic manifestations of recurrence or complications.
