Prosthetic-periodontal reabilitation: case report

Introduction: Currently, dental procedures have been praising results for aesthetic, functional and biological excellence. Since aesthetic areas represent a challenge to the Dental Surgeon, for a harmonic smile to be built, a balance between “white” and “red” aesthetics is necessary. Objectives: The objective of the present study was, through a case report, to describe a treatment that restored smile harmony through periodontal surgery for later prosthetic rehabilitation. Materials and Methods: Through the analysis of medical records of patients seen at the clinic of the Complexo Odontológico of the Centro Universitário da Serra Gaúcha - FSG between the years 2018 and 2019, a medical record of a patient who underwent prosthetic rehabilitation with surgical-periodontal treatment was selected. prior. Results: It was found through photographs comparing the smile before and after rehabilitation, that the harmony of the dental and gingival tissues and the expectations of the proposed treatment were achieved / achieved by determining aesthetic, functional and biological goals through a correct diagnosis and planning. Conclusion: In the present report, the integration of surgical-periodontal and rehabilitation treatments brought satisfactory results in terms of aesthetics and function, giving the patient self-esteem. The multidisciplinary treatment made it possible to improve the relationship between white and red aesthetics, promoting an excellent result within the limitations of the case.
