Chronic sclerosing sialadenitis was first described in Germany by Kuttner in 1896 is a benign tumorlike lesion predominately affecting the submandibular gland and is a relatively uncommon chronic inflammatory disease of the salivary gland. This lesion is characterized histologically by periductal fibrosis acinar atrophy, and gland infiltration by lymphocytes with lymphoid follicle formation, loss of the acini, and, eventually, marked sclerosis of the salivary gland and usually occurs in the elderly and middleaged adults with a slight male predominance. The report describes a patient R.J.R.C of a 53-year- old man, presenting with a two-years history of a painless, moderate sublingual mass related to a partial edentulism of the teeth 46 and 47.
