Cemento-Ossifying Peripheral Odontogenic Fibroma with Large Size in Indigenous Pacient: Case Report

Introdução: na classificação da OMS de 2017, o fibroma cemento-ossificante se enquadra no grupo dos tumores odontogênicos mesenquimais/ectomesenquimais benignos, sendo definido como uma neoplasia rara de tecido conjuntivo fibroso maduro, apresentando-se clinicamente como uma lesão exofítica bem delimitada na gengiva, lisa superfície, formando nódulos moles ou sólidos, de base séssil ou pedunculada, de coloração rósea, consistência às vezes atingindo a dureza óssea . Objetivo: apresentar o caso clínico de uma paciente do sexo feminino, 32 anos, apresentando uma massa nodular, pedunculada, de coloração normocrômica na região vestibular e lingual do rebordo mandibular esquerdo, tamanho de 5 cm, com consistência firme à palpação . Material e método: computed tomography imaging revealed a nodular, expansive, corticalized hypodense lesion on the left side of the mandibular body. For diagnostic clarification, an excisional biopsy was performed, and the specimen was submitted to histopathological analysis. Result: after interrelation of clinical, imaging and histopathological characteristics, a diagnosis of peripheral cemento-ossifying odontogenic fibroma was obtained. Conclusion: the control of the probable causal factors helps in the prevention, for patients already affected and treated, it is necessary the follow-up and postoperative orientations to avoid recurrence.
