Objective: This study aims to evaluate the functional outcomes of patients submitted to surgical management of complete ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injuries of the thumb with anchors. Method: A retrospective cross-sectional study of functional evaluation of 15 patients submitted to surgical management of complete UCL lesions with anchors. Age, gender, occupation, dominant hand, the time between injury and surgery, trauma mechanism, and follow-up time were evaluated. Measurements of the range of motion, tip pinch, and grip strength, in addition to the valgus stability test, were made. DASH (Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand) questionnaire was applied to evaluate the dysfunctions and symptoms of the patients submitted to the surgical treatment. Results: No patient presented instability after surgical management. The mean follow-up time was 52 months. Compared with the literature, we observed higher thumb tip pinch strength and lower metacarpophalangeal (MF) extension amplitude value. Grip strength and MF flexion values had no statistical difference. Conclusion: Surgical management of the Stener lesions of the thumb with anchors is a safe option, which provides stability and good functional recovery. The recovery of tip pinch and grip strength was adequate, restoring a good thumb function. The level of pain and patient satisfaction in the postoperative follow-up were considered, in general, quite satisfactory.
