Estabilidade de cor das resinas compostas: um desafio para a dentística restauradora

O surgimento das resinas compostas, da técnica de condicionamento ácido e dos variados tipos de adesivos provocaram uma revolução na Odontologia, que aperfeiçoou a devolução da função e estética ao dente. Um dos grandes desafios atuais em dentística restauradora é a manutenção da estética das restaurações de resina composta. O objetivo deste estudo foi revisar a literatura sobre a alteração de cor nas resinas compostas, evidenciando o estado atual das pesquisas sobre o tema. Foi realizada uma síntese de estudos in vitro realizado no período de janeiro de 2011 a janeiro de 2016 indexados na base de dados Pubmed. Seguindo os critérios de inclusão, entraram nesta revisão 13 estudos que avaliaram o grau de descoloração de resinas compostas frente à exposição a diferentes líquidos de coloração. Concluiu-se que apesar do rápido desenvolvimento da biotecnologia e nanotecnologia na Odontologia, novas pesquisas precisam ser feitas a fim de encontrar um material restaurador com propriedades mecânicas e estéticas de excelência, superando as limitações dos atuais.Descritores: Materiais Dentários; Estética; Cor.
