Prevalência de patologias associadas a terceiros molares inclusos: revisão de literatura

Resumen

Os terceiros molares como sendo os últimos dentes a erupcionarem, e por esse fator, muitas vezes não acham espaço satisfatório para a sua erupção, permanecem inclusos/impactados, com a permanência desses terceiros molares inclusos na arcada pode ocasionar várias alterações patológicas, algumas dessas em idades avançadas e/ou prejudicando dentes e estruturas adjacentes, sendo necessária sua remoção cirúrgica que em alguns casos pode causar transtornos e prejuízos à qualidade de vida, entretanto, a indicação de extração pode ser uma forma de se evitar o aparecimento destas e outras patologias associadas a essas inclusões. O objetivo deste trabalho é fazer uma revisão de literatura sobre as prevalências em relação à idade, sexo, tipo de inclusão e patologia mais frequente, assim como discutir os protocolos e opiniões diversificadas. Consistindo de uma revisão de literatura, para isso realizou-se a coleta de dados científicos sobre o assunto em bancos de dados como: PUBMED (www.pubmed.com) e SCIELO (www.scielo.org) entre 2000 e 2018 com inclusão de artigos clássicos da literatura e foram usados 89 artigos sobre o tema. Conclui-se que complicações associadas a terceiros molares inclusos tem predisposição por mulheres e por adultos jovens. Todas as particularidades devem influenciar o processo de tomada de decisão da exodontia ou não de um terceiro molar incluso ou retido, para isso sendo necessários mais estudos sobre o tema.
