Una Revisión Actualizada del Cementoblastoma Mandibular y el Reporte de Casos

El objetivo de este presente estudio es describir un caso de cementoblastoma mandibular tratado por escisión quirúrgica asociada a la extracción del diente involucrado. También, se realizó una revisión de la literatura en inglés de todos los casos de cemotoblastoma mandibular disponible en PubMed/Medline entre enero de 1955 y mayo de 2022. Este estudio demostró que el cementoblastoma mandibular es más comunicado en las mujeres con la edad entre la tercera y la cuarta décadas de vida con la predilección por la región mandibular del cuerpo asociada a los molares de primeros inferiores. El tratamiento más común fue la escisión quirúrgica con o sin extracción del diente involucrado. Aunque, existen otras terapias descritas como apicoectomía, el tratamiento endodóntico y la resección asociados o no a la reconstrucción ósea. El cementoblastoma es una lesión poco común, pero cuando está presente, está más asociado con la mandíbula. Por lo tanto, es interesante conocer la región mandibular más comúnmente involucrada y los tipos de tratamientos, así como el perfil de los pacientes más afectados.
