Odontalgia atípica mandibular: relato de caso

Odontalgia atípica é uma condição neuropática álgica, de difícil diagnóstico, uma vez que o local da queixa, usualmente, não apresenta causas obvias para a nocicepção. O presente trabalho objetiva relatar um caso clinico de odontalgia atípica. A paciente sofria com a condição em região bilateral de mandíbula há aproximadamente 19 anos, sem qualquer tratamento eficaz. Após a elucidação clínica da patologia, foi instaurada terapêutica farmacológica apropriada e o controle do caso neuropático. Pode-se concluir que o conhecimento das características dessa condição pelo cirurgião dentista, é fundamental para elaboração de um correto diagnóstico bem como um eficaz e apropriado tratamento.Descritores: Dor Orofacial; Odontalgia; Neuralgia Facial.
