Protocol for Repairing Fractured Conventional Complete Dentures and Its Impact on Oral Health Promotion

Second survey of the SB Brazil 2023/2024 survey, about 36.27% of Brazilians aged between 65 and 74 will never lose all their teeth. When these data are compared with those obtained by SB Brazil 2010, the taxa of complete edentulism fell in relation to the 53.70% observed at that time. However, Brazil still appears as one of the two countries with the highest absolute proportion of completely toothless people. The largest taxes in Brazil are only driven by socioeconomic inequalities and limited access to oral health promotion, and are concentrated in the North and Northeast regions, as well as in the interior of the Central-West region. Logo, or complete edentulism can be considered a public health problem, justifying, when indicated, the repair of fractured conventional prostheses. Therefore, the identification of the type of fracture of the total prosthesis, as well as a careful analysis of its clinical performance parameters (retention, stability and support) must be considered in the decision regarding repair of the total prosthesis or its replacement. The objective is to develop a repair protocol for a fractured conventional total prosthesis, using laboratory silicone to make the guide model, along with chemically activated acrylic resin associated with a layer of stainless steel in the structural reinforcement channel. Outrossim, focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG3 Health and Wellbeing and SDG10 Reduction of Inequalities) of the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations Organization (UN), also seeks to reflect on the impact of dental prosthesis on the promotion of oral health, or that would justify or repair of fractured and clinically damaged dental prostheses.
